PETER S. WAREING | Senior Chairman

Peter currently serves as Senior Chairman of American Pre-Stress Concrete.  He is Co-Founder and General Partner of Wareing, Athon & Company, a Houston-based private equity group formed in 1989.

Peter is a former Director of CenterPoint Energy (NYSE:CNP) and serves on the Board of the Greater Houston Partnership, the advisory council at the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, and the American Leadership Forum as a senior fellow.

Additionally, Peter serves on the Board of Trustees of Texas Children’s Hospital, the largest pediatric hospital in the United States. His past civic involvements include Covenant House Texas, The Houston Parks Board, The Children’s Fund, Buffalo Bayou Partnership, Inc., and The Texas Hearing Institute. 

Mr. Wareing received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.

MIKE SPRUILL | Chairman

A Long Beach, Mississippi native, Mike Spruill serves as Chairman of American Pre-Stress. He also serves as President & CEO of Gulf Coast Pre-Stress and Texas Concrete.

Joining Gulf Coast Pre-Stress Partners in 1975, Mike served an extensive pre-stress apprenticeship under Q.D Spruill where he was exposed to the principles and core values behind running a successful pre-stress concrete plant in Southern Mississippi. With 46 years of commitment and dedication to the Industry Mike continues to set the standard in producing quality concrete products.

Through his pledge for excellence and commitment to professionalism Mike has exceeded Industry standards by forming strong professional partnerships based on integrity, ingenuity, and reliability. Mike has helped Gulf Coast Pre-Stress and Texas Concrete become one of the most recognized producers of Pre-Stress Concrete in the country.

Mike attended the University of Southern Mississippi and has been involved with a multitude of professional organizations. These include: PCI Gulf South, Gulf South Prestressed Association, Louisiana AGC, Mississippi AGC, Mississippi Road Builders Association, Alabama Road Builders Association and Pile Drivers Contractors Association.

 

WILLIAM WAREING | President & CEO

Billy is President & CEO of American Pre-Stress Concrete. He also serves as Managing Partner of Wareing & Company, a Houston-based family office with investments in petrochemical construction, health care, oil & gas, and real estate. Additionally, Billy is co-founder of Bluebonnet Affordable Housing, a private real estate fund focused on manufactured housing.

Prior to his role at American Pre-Stress, Billy served as Managing Partner of TrinRock Capital, a private equity firm he co-founded. He also served 12 years as a Captain in the United States Army Reserves for the 1st Brigade, 75th Division based at Ellington Field, Texas.

Billy graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and completed his MBA from Columbia Business School. He lives in Houston with his wife and four children.

 

CHRIS CASTLE | CFO

Chris is CFO and Corporate Secretary of American Pre-Stress Concrete.  Prior to his role at American Pre-Stress, Chris served as Director of Commercial Strategy for a private equity-backed firm in the Oil & Gas sector. His expertise lies in strategic planning, financial modeling and forecasting, and risk mitigation.

Chris graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree and holds an M.B.A. from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. He resides in Houston with his wife and daughter.

BEAU BATES | Controller

Beau serves as Controller for Gulf Coast Pre-Stress Partners and Texas Concrete. Since 2008 he has served the pre-stressed concrete industry in a variety of roles including electrician, assistant controller, IT director, and controller.

While working on his bachelor’s degree, Beau joined Gulf Coast Pre-Stress Partners in 2008 as an electrician. Upon completing his degree in accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi he accepted a position in the accounting department.

Beau oversaw the design and implementation of custom ERP software that integrated all aspects of the company including estimating, production, quality control, maintenance, delivery, payroll, cost accounting, and general accounting. He credits this process with his deep understanding of every facet of the business.

In 2018, Beau accepted the position of Controller for Gulf Coast Pre-Stress Partners and Texas Concrete Partners, where he still serves today. He enjoys combining his understanding of finance, field practices, software, and data to help GCP and TCP stay at the forefront of the industry through complex reporting and analysis.

Beau is born and raised in Long Beach, Mississippi where he now lives with his wife and four children.
